I have been down and out for about 3 days now. I can’t keep anything down – not even sips of water. I can’t remember when I’ve been this sick – if I’ve ever been this sick. After a half-dozen sticks – Magdala managed to get an IV in me this morning. Tomorrow night is our big Christmas party and of course Christmas is just around the corner. I’ve got so much to do – presents to wrap – interpreters to call for the next group – cookies to make – and tickets to purchase. The girls ask me every day when we’re going to make sugar cookies – momma always made cookies with them and I told them we would make them today. I can’t really stand up without the room spinning so we won’t be making them today. I just need to feel better for the next few days so that I don’t ruin Christmas for the kids.
Gabriel has been in here a few times today and he keeps wanting to play with the IV pole! Rosie has prayed for me twice and Mikela has kissed my hand several times to make it “feel” better. Malaya watched the Disney Channel with me today and even though I’m burning up – she keeps covering me up with blankets so I don’t get cold. She asks me if I want some Juice and then yells at daddy to bring me AND her some! So I’ve got the best little nurses taking care of me – I just really want the room to stop spinning and just a few hours break from throwing up or feeling like throwing up! So please pray for a quick recovery so that I can be a good momma and do special things with the kids these next few days.
