I’m out of the hospital!! YEAH! Of course when I left the nurses told me they’d see me real soon! Based off of all my heart tests it seems that when I stand-up my heart rate speeds up. The heart rate and the blood pressure are inversely related. So my speedy heart rate causes my blood pressure to drop which is what causes me to pass out. Now the reason my heart rate speeds up – that’s yet to be determined. It’s probably just because I”m pregnant  – but at least we know the sequence of events that leads up to the blackouts.

I’m on heart pills right now – it’s supposed to slow down my heart rate and raise my blood pressure. Of course I always get pre-eclampsia during the last trimester – so it’s a fine line between slowing down my heart rate and not raising my blood pressure too high. They said it would take a few days before the pills would work. That must be the case because after a few hours of being discharged and home – I’ve already blacked out. I haven’t felt too well today – but the thought of going BACK to the hospital makes me sick to my stomach. I just want a few days – just a few days – where I can spend time with the kids and have somewhat of a normal life.

Jose is still in Haiti but he will be bringing Gigi back on Tuesday. I can’t wait to see her. Hopefully I’ll still be out of the hospital by then!

On a funny note –

Today I had a long talk with the girls about strangers. I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time but haven’t been home long enough to do it. In Haiti – they’re so used to American strangers visiting them and they think everyone wants to be their friend. I talked to them today about not getting into cars with people they don’t know – even if they offer them candy or tell them that their mommy said to go with them – to NEVER listen to them. I told them if a car stops outside the house to run into the house.

Well we’ve been blessed by Woodford Community Church. They’ve been bringing by food in the evenings for my family since I’ve been so sick. I’m laying on the couch and Mikela comes RUNNING into the house. She said there was a stranger in a white car offering her food. I got up to see what was going on and laughed! Someone from church was dropping off food for the family and the girls totally freaked out! LOL! I guess they understood the lesson today pretty well. Better to have them over-react then to let their guards down and something bad happen.

  1. That is so good that you are warning the little girls about strangers. I always worried when our girls were young that they would be misled by someone bad. How hilarious about the food from the ladies of the Church — they definitely heard what you said.

You are in my prayers and God bless you —

  2. Will continue to pray for you and those baby boys you are carrying! I am glad you are out of the hospital and can hopefully stay out for a few days. How blessed you are to have Woodford Community Church to bring you meals! That has to be such a big help! That is funny about the girls and how they got a chance to apply what mommy had taught them!!! I wish I could be at your shower but will see you when i come to KY in May. I miss you so much and wish so badly you were here but I know you are where you need to be. May God bless you and those babies and grow them stronger everyday in the name of Jezi!!! Love You!!
