I started blogging already about our Superhero Community Kick-Off, the generator arriving, the spa party with the girls from Princess Camp, the new salon & gym which are 2 new community initiatives opening this upcoming week, as well as several other exciting news! But with so much going on, I haven’t had a chance to finish any of them!

November 11th- Veterans Day
The theme for our children’s ministry is – Superhero’s. Last night, our entire family and dogs dressed up in costumes as we introduced the theme to all of the kids from the community. We showed a superhero movie to kick everything off!

It’s fun to dress up and pretend. But that’s all it is… pretend.
.
Having grown up watching my dad serve His God, then his family, then his country, then the country of Haiti – it is not lost on me what a true hero is.
.
I am thankful for the example my dad has set and the way my children respect and appreciate those who serve.

November 7th- THE NEW GENERATOR ARRIVES
Written on Thanksgiving 2022 – ‘We had planned to decorate the Christmas tree after dinner. Jose & I began to unwrap the ornaments and string the lights. But in typical Castillo Fashion – as soon as he grabbed the chair to hang the garland… the generator overheated and we lost power for the rest of the night.’

Little did we realize that we wouldn’t just lose power for the night…. but for nearly a year.

We fundraised to replace it in January – but there was no safe way to get it here due to the gang violence.
.
But alas – tonight the long-awaited generator is here! LET THERE BE LIGHT!
