So it’s about 3:00 am and here I sit – wide awake. I don’t know how my body is functioning anymore. I have slept less than 12 hours total over the last 4 days. I’m sleepy but I just can’t seem to shut myself down. I’ve laid down a lot – I’ve rested – but I haven’t actually slept.
I’m at Angel’s house right now – some of you may remember her from her summer internships at the mission. I’m going to stay with her for a few days. Her mom has all these natural oils and pills that she uses for every type of illness you could have or prevent. Both Angel and her mom really think that I could use this peppermint oil to help with my headaches. Now – I’m someone who’s very skeptical of that sort of stuff. Heather is always taking herbal things and I know those at the mission are all on the “natural” pill bandwagon. I’ve just never been a strong believer of the stuff.
So tonight I rubbed on this peppermint oil…..you rub it on your forehead and then on the back of your neck. It eventually feels like those Icy/Hot packs – it’s “cooling” but also feels like it’s “burning” a little bit. Outside of smelling like Christmas – I’m not sure it’s working yet. They told me to give it time – and it might take several tries! I’m still hoping for the best!
So do any of you have any magical headache relief – “oils” or “pills” or “rituals” ? Or maybe a hammer – and you could just hit me over the head with it and take me out of my misery?!!! I’m just about willing to try anything at this point! 🙂
