Successful Delivery for 20 families….

We decided last night to go back to the tent city and pass out cards. We then broke them into groups and told them to come to undisclosed locations to get on the truck and then we would drive them to the small airport and pass out the food/supplies there. It was a completely calm and beautiful morning! It could not have gone better!

However – when the first group got back with food – everyone started following the other groups and it was complete chaos (same as the night before) where 100 people are trying to get on the truck at one time. So we didn’t get to deliver supplies to the 2nd group. We all gathered together in prayer again right before noon and will meet at 4pm to discuss how we can get supplies to the rest of the families.

Only the head of each family came to get the supplies. This internet here in PAP still won’t let me upload many pictures but here are a few:

“Stand Back Up”

Go ahead and take your best shot,
Let ‘er rip, give it all you’ve got,
I’m laid out on the floor, but I’ve been here before,
I may stumble, yeah I might fall,
Only human aren’t we all?
I might lose my way, but hear me when I say,

I will stand back up,
You’ll know just the moment when I’ve had enough,
Sometimes I’m afraid, and I don’t feel that tough,
But I’ll stand back up,

I’ve been beaten up and bruised,
I’ve been kicked right off my shoes,
Been down on my knees more times than you’d believe,
When the darkness tries to get me,
There’s a light that just won’t let me,
It might take my pride, and my tears may fill my eyes,
But I’ll stand back up,

I’ve weathered all these storms,
But I just turn them into wind, so I can fly,
What don’t kill you makes you stronger,
When I take my last breath,
That’s when I’ll just give up,

So, go ahead and take your best shot,
Let ‘er rip, give it all you’ve got,
You might win this round but you can’t keep me down,

‘Cause I’ll stand back up,
And you’ll know just the moment when I’ve had enough,
Sometimes I’m afraid and I don’t feel that tough,
But I’ll stand back up,

You’ll know just the moment when I’ve had enough,
Sometimes I’m afraid and I don’t feel that tough,
But I’ll stand back up.

the smiles on the three boys’ faces say it all! Job well done! I think that is like getting a small glimpse into heaven – through those smiles!

  2. Wow! Thanks Jody for sharing. It’s so great to now put faces with some of the names on your list. After reading your blog last night I forwarded it to everyone in the church so they could pray for a good day. You stood right back up and didn’t allow for satan to keep you from serving the poor people by the palace. Praying that tomorrow will give the same results.

  3. I couldn’t wait to get back from work today to see how God worked! Thank you for standing back up and for crushing satan under your feet!

  4. I am SO glad you’re posting again! I have been checking your blog every day for the past week and almost started to get worried because you were so silent. Thanks for bringing us along the journey. I can’t imagine how hard yesterday was for you all. Nothing in Haiti is easy. We take so many things for granted – even just having police to help keep law and order. It wouldn’t be you if you didn’t take the road less traveled! Love you girl!

  5. Hey jody – just saw you posted some tent city needs above. I’m going to get our church to start collecting supplies. We’re a small community but we’ll try to do our part. We’ve got your back and we’re happy to help you stand back up!

Thanks guys for all your love and support! I kind of had to laugh to myself a little bit. I included that song for the Haitians – not for me! THEY will stand back up – – – after all they’ve been through – kicked and bruised – and on their knees before their father – satan will not hold them down!! Thanks for all the prayers. We hope to finish delivering the rest of the supplies at 6am tomorrow!

    Love you all!

  7. Love your sweet heart, Jody! Thanks so much for sharing your load with us — it’s great to know when and how to pray for you and your group! Praying tomorrow’s delivery will be as good as today! I’m so proud of you for all you get done in the name of our Lord!
