The More I Seek You…

This past week has been exceptionally difficult on more levels than I could ever imagine. From worrying about Asher – to my credit card number being stolen – from unexpected bills  – to friends that totally let you down. Ugh.

Our Women’s Bible Group in Haiti is using Beth Moore’s Fruit of the Spirit Study. I have not been able to open it at all this week  – although I have found myself face to the ground – at His feet – more times than I can count. God is definitely teaching me a lot through all these trials. He is showing me unhealthy areas I place my trust and has cried out to me to choose Him and our relationship – above all else.

A group called No Boundaries came to Haiti this past May. They had an amazing singer in their group. She sang this song called –  The More I Seek You.  It was the first time I had ever heard it. This past week bits and pieces of it kept coming back to me but I couldn’t remember the words.  I found myself in tears as I heard that song sang at church today! Talk about a God-Thing!

The more I seek You
The more I find You
The more I find You
The more I love You

(Chorus)
I want to sit at Your feet,
Drink from the cup in Your hand,
Lay back against you and breathe,
Feel Your heartbeat,
This love is so deep,
It’s more than I can stand,
I melt in Your peace,
It’s overwhelming.

Sometimes when we’re right in the throws of things – we forget that we can lean into Him. We don’t always think of putting our hand on His chest and feeling His heartbeat. But to me – it reminds me of how approachable He is. That we can run INTO Him and catch our breath.

I heard a sermon last week that talked about what it will be like when we meet Jesus. He talked about this one HUGE thing – that we will just be in awe of when we see Him. The Bible uses only one word three times in a row – to describe our Jesus. It’s Holy, Holy, Holy.

He brought up this scripture – Rev. 4:8 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come”.

This scripture talks about the angels in Heaven having 6 wings – they cover their eyes and their feet – because they are before the Almighty God. They hover around His throne and they constantly are singing over and over again – Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.

We ended the service with that song and as the song finished the preacher said – now let’s just sing that part with the angels in Heaven who are singing this over and over again to the King. I am telling you – I got goosebumps imagining that scene and knowing that I was joining below in that chorus with the angels.

I am just a sinner before my Lord – unworthy of His love, His grace, and His mercy. Yet He is willing to take this toxic girl – and love her with all His heart. He is able to free me – from the burdens of this world and and all my unholiness. In all His goodness – why do we pour ourselves into anything other than Him? Why do we put our energy into anything other than the Holy of Holies? ESPECIALLY – if given the chance – He will welcome us to melt in His peace?
