My kids have been cracking me up this entire week! They have made me smile so much my face hurts! (And I don’t like to smile!) I think they’ve always been this way – but I didn’t always make the time to see it. God has opened my heart in the last two weeks to really “listen” to them.
Tonight the girls were wanting me to quiz them about school. They love for me to ask them to spell things or to add numbers together!
Mikela can spell nearly every word you give her. Quiz her about Bible stories and she’s a Champ!
Malaya is our mathematician. She can add large numbers like 36 plus 42 within seconds without any paper! She loves anything math-related!
School has always been a struggle for Rosie. I was never sure if Rosie could concentrate enough on the words in front of her to read. She was diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder a few years ago and I feel like there might be something else going on there too. With Rosie it’s normally 3 steps forward and one step back. But this week she has been going full speed! It’s like something finally “clicked” and she really understands what she’s doing!! Miss Beth and I have been teary-eyed watching our little Rosie soar this week – reading like a pro! I couldn’t be more proud!
The girls memorize scriptures every week! They aren’t short scriptures either! They’re 2 and 3 sentences! I’m always blown away when they come upstairs and ramble off their memory verse!
The girls have already learned the 23rd Psalm and have nearly memorized the 121st Psalm! (Fruits of Miss Beth). But the most incredible thing about each of my little ones – is their precious heart.
The girls were practicing the 121st Psalm tonight. They wanted to do it all on their own! I told them how proud I am and Mikela tells me that they did it a different way when I was sick and in the states. Really?
They repeated the following to me:
Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my Mom’s help come from?
2 Her help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let her foot slip—
he who watches over her will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over mom—
the LORD is her shade at her right hand;
6 the sun will not harm her by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep her from all harm—
he will watch over her life;
8 the LORD will watch over her coming and going
both now and forevermore

Thank you Lord for their incredible hearts – and for your abundant blessings on me.
