On Sunday we drove from NYC to Lexington (through the snow) and arrived at St. Joseph East Hospital around 3:30am. After a very stressful drive – we were told that Asher was too sick for their hospital. We took an ambulance and went from St. Joseph to another hospital.
Asher has had a fever, diarrhea, & vomiting since Friday night. We figured it was just a GI bug but on Sunday his fever spiked to 103 and his kidneys began to shut down. His eyes looked sunken and he was very lethargic. He was admitted into the hospital and at one point was almost admitted to the PICU.
They pumped his IV’s with medication and after SEVERAL hours he finally began to pee and the color came back to his face. He sat up on Monday afternoon and this morning was looking better. Around noon he started feeling very weak again and no longer had the energy to sit up. It’s been that way all day 😦
They are treating him for several things as we wait for many of the tests to come back. The doctors have limited the visitors as it’s essential that he rests.
We want to thank you for your prayers and ask that you continue to lift him up over these next few days.
