I’m not sure where to begin or how I even feel about what happened today. My senses are completely overloaded. What I saw – What I smelt – What I heard – What I touched……
I felt compelled to to put this video on tonight. We got home about an hour ago. I’m trying to figure out how to write down this experience. This video is photos that Jose and I took on our cameras. Most of the people did NOT want us to take their photos and we respected that. I’m afraid that the most compelling photos will never be shown. It seemed inappropriate to take pictures of the children wrapped in white sheets. Somehow it felt inappropriate to photo the muddy body they found this afternoon in a home that was finally dug out of mud.
They told me that the rain came at night while people were sleeping. By the time they knew what was going on – it was too late. They couldn’t get out of their home – and the mud and debris kept their door closed and it poured through their windows – and families died together in their homes……..
I’m still processing all of this.
Here is a video of the destruction – which doesn’t do justice but it’s the best we could do without compromising our respect for the people here.

I’m so glad you made it back safely. My family has been praying for your trip and what God might reveal to you on it.
I’m sure these pictures don’t do justice to what you saw but they certainly brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing them with us and for taking the time to get it all together after such a long day.
We continue to pray for your family and for the mission.
I can only imagine….
